Formosa, a name that symbolizes and refers to an island of beauty, has become synonymous with Taiwan for ages. The modern-day Taiwan is mostly associated with computer technology and creativity, though. Another product that has put Taiwan on the map is tea. For eons tea has been essential to Taiwanese daily life, simple and always at hand. Tea trees are planted all over Taiwan, and with the various skills required for different teas are developed various specialty teas on this small island country. One has but to look back awhile, and he cannot help the knowledge that a little more than a century ago Taiwan was long immersed in the fame Formosa Oolong Tea had brought to bear. Taiwan is not nicknamed Formosa for nothing.
We´re a Nantou-based company. Our office is registered in Taipei. Nantou County, Taiwan, the primary tea-growing area, teeming with tea plantations and farming. Our team is composed of certified tea masters and tea tasters whose whole-hearted devotion to and demand of tea is second to none; nothing but the best tea will pass muster and be served by them. Except for teas marked Aged Tea, there is a quota for every seasonal tea product, so once the quota is sold out, one may have to wait for the coming season.
Every tea is imbued with a culture that can amaze, which is our belief, and tea itself is an agricultural product, ideal for consumption in the particular season. Every tea acknowledged and sworn by Formosa T-house goes through a very personal process: a visit with the plantation and the farmer, an insight into the details of tea plantation management and the technology and skill for tea-making; most important of all, their thoughts and ideals concerning tea. All in all we have in mind to offer the best tea possible from Taiwan, to draw you into the world of tea made in Taiwan, which is quite unlike any other you might have experienced.
Lately some seasonal climate changes have wreaked havoc on Taiwan; the bounty of forestry has also witnessed one natural disaster after another, earthquakes, windstorms, floods and so on, all of them devastating. As citizens of the globe and in response to duty calls to our society, Formosa T-house will donate to charities any chance we can, to put in our best effort for ecology and minority groups. Durch die einzigartige Lage und den historischen Hintergrund sind hier seltene und unterschiedliche Kulturen, gepaart mit gastfreundlichen und zuverlässigen Menschen, zu finden.
Der Name Formosa, der eine Insel der Schönheit symbolisiert und benennt, ist zum Synonym Taiwans für mehrere Epochen geworden. Das moderne Taiwan wird meist mit Computertechnik und Kreativität in Verbindung gebracht. Ein anderes Produkt, das Taiwan zur Bekanntheit verhilft, ist Tee. Über einen sehr langen Zeitraum war Tee ein wesentlicher Bestandteil des täglichen Lebens in Taiwan, einfach und immer greifbar. Teesträucher werden überall in Taiwan gepflanzt. Durch die diversen Techniken, die für die verschiedenen Tees benötigt werden, werden auf diesem kleinen Inselstaat eine reichhaltige Menge an speziellen Teesorten entwickelt. Jemand braucht nur zurück zu blicken, und er kommt nicht umhin zu entdecken, dass Taiwan vor etwas mehr als hundert Jahren lange versunken war in dem Ruhm, den der Taiwan Oolong Tee hervorbrachte. Taiwan hat nicht umsonst den Spitznamen Formosa.
Wir sind ein Unternehmen mit Sitz in Nantou. Unser Büro ist in Taipei registriert. Nantou County ist in Taiwan das wichtigste Teeanbaugebiet, und wir arbeiten mit Teeplantagen und Farmen zusammen. Unser Team setzt sich zusammen aus zertifizierten Teemeistern und Teetestern, deren aufrichtige Leidenschaft für Tee und Anforderungen an Tee eindeutig an erster Stelle stehen. Nichts Geringeres als der beste Tee genügt unseren Anforderungen und wird von ihnen serviert. Außer Tees, die mit "Aged Tea" gekennzeichnet sind, besteht ein Kontingent für jedes saisonale Teeprodukt; sobald das Kontingent ausverkauft ist, muss man auf die kommende Saison warten.

Jeder Tee, der vom Formosa T-house anerkannt und beschwört wird, durchläuft einen sehr eigenen Prozess: ein Besuch bei der Plantage und beim Farmer, ein Einblick in die Besonderheiten des Managements der Teeplantagen und der Technik und Fertigkeiten der Teeherstellung; doch am wichtigsten von allen: ihre Gedanken und Ideale den Tee betreffend. Alles in allem ist es unser Ziel den bestmöglichen Tee Taiwans anzubieten, und Sie in die Welt des taiwanischen Tees zu locken, die völlig anders ist als das, was sie bisher erlebt haben könnten.
In letzter Zeit haben saisonale Klimaveränderungen Verwüstungen auf Taiwan zur Folge gehabt; das Geschenk der Waldbestandes hat eine Naturkatastrophe nach der anderen erfahren, Erdbeben, Wirbelstürme, Überflutungen usw., alle von ihnen verheerend.
